SmartCity Expo USA 2022, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, is an initiative of the White House Summit for Democracy Year of Action, and Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. of Augusta is the 2022 Chair of Smart City Expo USA. Smart City Expo USA is the country's leading event for cities, solving urgent issues of today while preparing cities for tomorrow. The 2022 Expo will feature 200+ exciting and diverse speakers, and present to 3000 highly-curated attendees.

SmartCity Expo USA believes cities are not “smart” if there is homelessness, hunger, poverty, or if citizens cannot access clean air, engage in a decent commute, access proper healthcare, build generational wealth, or access the ballot box. Their partners include Fira Barcelona, the world’s largest smart city conference, U.S. Conference of Mayors President, Mayor Francis Suarez, the National League of Cities, and the African American Mayors Association.

Dr. Jose Morey will be speaking on Why Representaion Matters: Data and Equity in Health, alongside: Marvin Figueroa, director of the US Department of HHS, Kim Desmond, chief race and equity officer of the city of San Diego, and moderator Brenna Berman, former CIO for the city of Chicago.
