On July 4, 2024 Zhixing China-China-US Young Elite Project Scholars gathered in Shanghai to exchange and share the gains, experiences and future cooperation suggestions for China. Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of the Exchange Association, attended the event and interacted with scholars.

This year, there are 10 project scholars from many fields such as education, economy, agriculture, transportation, medical care and cultural media in the United States. In three weeks, scholars visited 200 institutions in 14 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu and Shenzhen, visited new energy vehicle enterprises, medical research institutions, farms and architectural design enterprises, and learned about the application of artificial intelligence technology in art curation, education popularization and medical pharmaceuticals. To examine the Chinese practice of urban planning, transportation governance and sustainable development. Walk, experience and understand China through interviews with government officials, scholars, entrepreneurs and ordinary people. They felt China's rich historical and cultural heritage, and witnessed the rapid development of Chinese society and the progress of science and technology.

Daniel Jimenez, senior director of the global strategic consulting department of Ernst & Young-Bozhilong and founder and CEO of the Cuba No. 1 Foundation, combined with the traditional Chinese value culture of righteousness, etiquette, wisdom, faith and filial piety, analyzed the characteristics of China and the United States in medical pharmaceuticals, and hoped that Further exchange and cooperation with Chinese counterparts in the application of artificial intelligence.

Michael Hansen, a senior researcher and director of the Brown Education Policy Center of the Brookings Institution, compared the different characteristics of the development of STEM teachers in China and the United States. He believes that the Zhixing China project is a unique experience, which allows him to meet old friends again and make new friends, creating new cooperation opportunities for the two sides in the development and training of STEM teachers in the future.

Jonathan Rewers, chief strategy officer of the San Francisco Transportation Authority, vividly described his investigation of the seven cities he visited in the past three weeks, and compared the similarities and differences between China and the United States in urban transportation planning. He said, "This project has far exceeded my expectations. I feel that China's history and culture have nurtured the pursuit of harmony."

Through this visit, scholars have established extensive contacts and deep friendship with their Chinese counterparts and fellow American scholars, laying a good foundation for future career development and promotion of Sino-US cooperation. These three weeks of good time will be an unforgettable experience for them, and I sincerely thank the Exchange Association for providing you with this valuable opportunity.

Fu Bo emphasized the special significance of the Zhixing China project through three key words - mutual learning, the unity of knowledge and action, and win-win cooperation. She encourages scholars to continue to pay attention to China's development and Sino-US relations in the future, maintain contact with Chinese counterparts, enhance friendship, work together to meet common challenges, and promote Sino-US cooperation in more fields. The Exchange Association will continue to provide a platform for youth exchanges between China and the United States to promote the healthy development of cultural exchanges between China and the United States.

The event also invited Professor Zhu Feng, Executive Dean of the School of International Relations of Nanjing University, and Dr. Shao Yuqun, Director of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies, to exchange and share.

The Zhixing China-Sino-US Youth Elite Project sponsored by the China Education International Exchange Association is an important result of the fifth round of high-level consultation on Sino-American cultural exchange and a demonstration project for Sino-American cultural exchange. It was officially launched in December 2014 and invites young elites from all walks of life from the United States to visit China for in-depth study every year. Through walking in China, experiencing China, and talking and exchanging with Chinese experts, scholars, practitioners and ordinary people, scholars have a comprehensive understanding of China's history and current situation, and have become an important force to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between young people in China and the United States, and promote win-win cooperation between China and the United States. This year, 10 American scholars carried out group activities in Beijing, then went to many cities in China for in-depth visits, and ended the project activities in Shanghai.
